On Wednesday, 17 January, the IntelliGO Networks team took part in the University of Toronto's "Get Hired: Job Fair" as part of an initiative to recruit top talent for opportunities within our growing business.
The team met with students at all stages of study in areas such as Computer Science, Mathematical Science, Digital Communications, Economics, Finance, and Marketing. The number of students interested in a career in cybersecurity was extremely high and show how high-profile cyber attacks, such as those that were were revealed in 2017, have brought attention to the area in terms of being a top career choice for students.
Why Consider a Career in Cybersecurity?
Information Technology is in a constant state of change and this means that cyber attacks are also constantly evolving, becoming more efficient and advanced. This creates an almost unlimited potential for career growth and opportunity to learn on a daily basis. There is also currently a 0% unemployment rate for security professionals, meaning the level of future job security is very high.
No two days in cybersecurity are the same, which is why it is an exciting place to be if you value variety and continuous learning. The skills you learn in cybersecurity are also highly transferable across companies and geographies.
Do I Need to be an IT Security Specialist to Work at IntelliGO Networks?
Cybersecurity companies can't run effectively without business support from functions such as HR, Finance, Sales, and Marketing.
